Tom Colvin's BECOMING-A-WRITER-SERIOUSLY is by far the best writer's resource on the web. I speak from experience; I've been around since Tim Berners-Lee created this marvel of a world wide web--back when I was working on a Mac Plus with 8megs of RAM. BAWS is to writers as Snap-On is to mechanics. There's a tool for everything and not just virtually worthless add-ons that serve no real function. I have yet to find a link in BAWS that doesn't provide writers of all stripes--novelists, short story writers, screenwriters, TV scribes, the non-fiction cadre , journalists, playwrights, poets--take your pick--with a serious, useful tool to help lighten the load of the mechanical stuff so the writer can get on with the serious business of creating. BECOMING-A-WRITER-SERIOUSLY is the best in the business.

Not only have I found some gems in his reviews, but he's also very personable and active in his community. He fully understands that blogging is a conversation, and his voice is a valuable addition to the discussion.

She has given me extremely helpful advice when she had nothing to gain from it. She has become a good friend through all of this and her site is so valuable to us writers. I don't know what I would have done without her.

Deb Ng from http://freelancewritinggigs.... One her site is a classic off of which many others are based but her blog is the original and best. Two, I've found more jobs there than most other places, and three Deb is one cool cat -- she's nice to other writers and supports writers/blogger rights and payment issues which I like.

I'd like to vote for www.jcme.ca. I live in the States but watch out for this Canadian blog from time to time. I like the friendly and casual manner, and I actually take note of the resources that James and Harry mention - not really for me but for my daughter. When there are leads for freelance writers I put it on my "list for Gaby." Gaby's my daughter who'll soon be off to university and will be majoring in communications. While there, I'd like her to earn some money of her own by writing freelance. I think blogs should have a specific purpose and that's to help others find resources. So instead of just pure rambling, I think James and Harry have something to offer readers."
